About Hotel George
Situated in the 9th Arrondissement of Paris within a building dating back over 100 years, the Hotel George has been renovated to provide a quiet but very colourful atmosphere with hints of a 1950s theme, that combines with modern amenities like air conditioning and a lift for easy access to the rooms.
The minute you enter the lobby area, you will see a fun and very bright, yet warm atmosphere with friendly staff greeting you, which is also an area where you can relax on the sofas or armchairs, or take advantage of the free WiFi.
There is also an area specifically designed with children in mind that has a play kitchen, small table and chairs, books, toys, etc, so as you can tell, this is a very family friendly hotel in Paris. In fact, there are even cushions within some of the rooms that are made to look like animals, plus baby cots can be supplied upon request and children under the age of two stay free of charge as well.
You will find that the Hotel George has a 24 hour reception with multilingual staff able to speak different languages including English, who are there to help you get the most out of your holiday in Paris, in addition to there being a luggage room for those of you arriving before check-in time.
Additional facilities include a laundry service operated by an outside company and there is an iron and ironing board available upon request, along with a dedicated breakfast room where you can enjoy a good start to the day with a very varied buffet breakfast, yet they also offer room service for breakfast as well.
Breakfast is a very varied selection, so whether you want a baguette, croissant, apple turnover, cereals, eggs, colds cuts, cheeses and much more, not forgetting fresh fruit juices and hot beverages, then this will definitely set you up for the day and this is free of charge if booked directly with the hotel, or an approximate cost of €10 per person otherwise.
Now being that the Hotel George is part of the Astotel Hotel Group, you will find they have what is called the Open Bar concept, where every afternoon within the lounge area you can enjoy soft drinks along with snacks such as sweets, pastries and fruit, all completely free of charge. Although, if you are at a different location in Paris, yet still near to another Astotel Hotel, you can take advantage of the Asto Tour to gain the same benefits upon proof you are a guest at the Hotel George.
Rooms at the Hotel George
As with many hotels in Paris you will find that the 46 rooms of the Hotel George are relatively small, with a single being around 13m squared, a twin or double room being approximately 15 metres squared and triple rooms with a double bed and single bed are around 23 metres squared.
There is also what they call the Apartment room, which is like a junior suite, so you get a lounge area for far more space, but having a sofa bed, this room can also accommodate a third person, yet we would like to point out that due to only being accessed via an internal staircase, it is not suitable for those with reduced mobility.
Each room at the Hotel George is air conditioned, has soundproofing and double glazing, and en suite with either bath or shower and a hairdryer, and are designed in a quaint but modern stylish design with varying colours.
They come equipped with a desk and lamp, direct dial telephone, personal safe, flat screen TV with satellite channels, free WiFi and a courtesy tray for making your own tea and coffee. In addition, there is a mini bar where you can enjoy free soft drinks and water, that is re-stocked daily.
