There are so many different types of accommodation in Paris to suite all tastes and budgets, many of which cater for those who want to enjoy a romantic trip with a loved one, but for those of you who have a certain passion or dream, there are several unusual and themed hotels and alternative accommodation available.
If you love the idea of a floating hotel on the River Seine, then this is not a problem, but some are fascinated with history and nostalgia, so a former mansion house or room designed like you are travelling back to the 1700s or 1800s may be more to your liking, just with the creature comforts of today.

Discovering rooms within hotels that are on a specific theme, such as James Bond, superheroes, famous tourist attractions in Paris like the Moulin Rouge or others on strange topics, for instance different indulgencies or sins including cakes, are just some of the choices you have within Paris.
You could opt for traditional Parisian chic, a Scandinavian styled room, a boutique hotel with designer elements, others based upon literature or the arts, rooms that make you feel like the sky is the limits with levitating beds, etc and many more different options to suit your requirements.
There are also even more types of unusual accommodation such as those that are eco-friendly, but for those of you on honeymoon or just requiring a truly romantic weekend away, then a sumptuous hotel suite even with Jacuzzi, sauna or other features like four poster beds are another option.
On the outskirts of Paris and the surrounding area in Ile de France there are other themed hotels, along with different types of accommodation including camping, tree houses and much more, with these being designed to suit those requiring a bit of adventure, yet still wish to be near to Paris to enjoy the city of lights, culture and romance.
You will find that the different types of accommodation and the themed hotels vary greatly in their star ratings and also the cost per night, with some of the unusual hotels in Paris commanding quite high rates, yet these also do get booked very quickly due to the uniqueness of the place.

So with these points in mind, if you are looking at somewhere completely different to stay, we would advise booking early, often several months prior to your visit, and in some cases even a year to get a specific hotel room.
In addition to this, many of these themed hotels only have rooms available for one or two people and cannot accommodate families or even a third person, so this is also something else to bear in mind when you are choosing where to stay in Paris.
