This is a view we took looking down one of the alleyways within the Jardin des Tuileries in a southern direction where you can see the Vestige du Palais des Tuileries, which is positioned by a wall of the garden along the Allee du pied de la terrasse du Bord de l'Eau on the River Seine side.

Now the Palais des Tuileries was a royal palace constructed for Catherine de Medici, who also had the gardens laid out, so after the building was set on fire during the Paris Commune and demolished a few years later, it is fitting that a piece of the original architecture from the front facade should remain within the gardens.
