This is a view looking in a south westerly direction over a part of the Jardin du Carrousel section of the Tuileries Gardens along with the impressive Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which was constructed for Napoleon Bonaparte, and in the distance you can just see the most famous tourist attraction and landmark of the Eiffel Tower.

And where we were standing was actually named the Place du Carrousel back in 1662 when this area was made into a parade ground on the orders of King Louis XIV, which would hold a vast pageant to celebrate the birth of his first child.
