We were in an area of the Tuileries Gardens called the Cour Anglaise looking in an south easterly direction towards the Terrasse des Tuileries, and this is on the northern side of the gardens next to the Rue de Rivoli that was constructed during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte.

And although the Jardin des Tuileries originally just had historical statues and monuments, there have been several modern and contemporary 20th century works added, including this statue called Force et Tendresse, which was sculpted by Eugene Dodeigne.
