HD photograph of Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel inside Jardin des Tuileries looking easterly - Page 63
Originally there was the Palais du Louvre and another palace constructed in front of this for Queen Catherine de Medici called the Palais des Tuileries, and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was constructed as a grand entrance in the courtyard between the two and was named after the area it was positioned within.

But when the Palais des Tuileries was set on fire during the French Revolution and then destroyed, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and the garden became a part of the Jardin des Tuileries and this is a photo we took looking in an easterly direction from this area of the Tuileries Gardens past the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel through to the some facades of the fabulous Louvre Museum.
