HD photograph though Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and Jardin des Tuileries looking north west - Page 44
While we were within the Jardin des Tuileries in the 1st Arrondissement of Paris, we took this HD photo standing by the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel looking in a north westerly direction down the Allee Centrale, which was the central axis of the garden laid out by Andre Le Notre to provide a better perspective from the original palace of the Tuileries Gardens.

So, if you look carefully in between the arch, not only can you see an enormous Ferris wheel, which had been erected within the Place de la Concorde, but right in the centre is the Luxor Obelisk within this square.
However, due to the position of this historical axis dating back centuries, you can see past these tourist attractions right up the Avenue des Champs Elysees through to the more famous and larger triumphal arch in the very distance, called the Arc de Triomphe, yet both of these arches were commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte.
