You will find numerous monuments dotted all over Paris, and the Tuileries gardens is no exception, as you can see from this photo showing the back of a monument located along the Esplanade des Feuillants, as we were looking in a north westerly direction.

In fact, over the centuries the Jardin des Tuileries has seen many different statues and monuments added to the gardens, and this one was put in place only a few years before World War I, when all of the statuary was surrounded by sand bags to protect them from any damage, and still surviving, this historical free public garden is now classed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
