This is view looking in a north easterly direction, while we were within the Grand Couvert area of the Jardin des Tuileries, on the southern side, which is closest to the River Seine, and you can see one of the pathways that goes around this bosquet, or grove in English.

Grand Couvert, literally means large covered, and this is an area of a French formal garden that would traditionally be far away from the palace, and an area covered with trees, which is exactly what you can find within the Tuileries Gardens, with over 2000 trees in this section alone.
