This is a view looking in an north east east direction past the bronze animal sculpture located in the parterre of the Grand Carre area called the Grand Reserve sud, towards the Grille Lemonnier and the gates of the Jardin des Tuileries, which lead to the Jardin du Carrousel and beyond to The Louvre.

You will find that although many statues were originally based upon mythology, but as the centuries went on animal sculptures including horses, yet especially wild animals became very popular, with lions and tigers being the most common forms of statues that intrigued people, as many had never seen such as creature in their lives, which is why some sculptors specialised in this form of art and several can be found within the Tuileries Gardens.
