Mythological statues were a very popular subject to adorn gardens of chateaux and palaces, and here you can see a close up showing a bearded man, who was designed to depict the God of the River Tiber, also holding a cornucopia, which was a symbol of abundance in antiquity, sometimes referred to as the horn of plenty.

And this particular statue can be found within the Fer a cheval area of Tuileries Gardens and is one of the historical statues that was copied from an even older one, which is what many sculptors done when they studied at the French Academy in Rome, so that the kings and queens of France could also have beautiful marble statues adorning their domains.
