While standing by one of the stone vases within the Jardin des Tuileries, we took this photo looking over the Grand Reserve sud parterre within the Grand Carre area, towards the Pavillon de Flore wing of the Musee du Louvre, who are in charge of maintaining these historical gardens.

But getting back to the vase, you will find that virtually every former royal garden belonging to a beautiful chateau such as the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, has ornamental stone vases as decorations, sometimes with flowers and others like within the Tuileries Gardens placed on tall pedestals as ornaments to complement the formal setting.
