Although the Tuileries Gardens is classed as a World Heritage site and has a history going back over 450 years, in 1998 under the French President, Jacques Chirac, works of 20th century modern art were added to the gardens, followed in 2000 by contemporary art works by living artists.

So this is a view looking in a north easterly direction over a bosquet, or grove in English, called the Grande salle verte sud, which is located within the Grand Couvert area of the Jardin des Tuileries, and as you can see, this area is home to one of the 20th century modern art sculptures.
