Even though the Tuileries Gardens is located in the heart of Paris, because there are two actual ponds with aquatic plant life, fish etc, you will also see lots of different types of wildlife, just like this Mallard duck that we took a photo of, resting at the edge of the Exedra nord.

So, with an ongoing maintenance and restoration programme organised by the Musee du Louvre who maintain these gardens, the Jardin des Tuileries became recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has an enormous amount of biodiversity in a tranquil setting, even though it is a popular tourist attraction.
