While standing on the Allee Centrale close the Grille Lemonnier area of the Tuileries gardens, we took this view looking over the Grand Reserve sud parterre, past the Diane statue in a south westerly direction towards one of the two small ponds in the distance.

And although many statues started to adorn the gardens in the 1700s, Emperor Louis Napoleon decided to add additional decorations during his reign, with this being one of them, that was placed within a section that he made into his own private garden, which was only open to the public when he was not in residence at the former Palais des Tuileries.
