This is a view looking in a north westerly direction along one of the tree lined pathways in the Jardin des Tuileries called the Allee des Feuillants, and we took this photo from right down by the Grand Carre area of the gardens, with its parterres, and to the right of the image is the esplanade that then gets you to the Terrasse des Feuillants.

Now one of the things you will find within a French formal garden are pathways lined with trees in straight lines, always trimmed to certain heights, and this creates a perspective of making the garden look longer than it actually is, which is one of the principles that the landscape architect Andre Le Notre utilised within the Tuileries Gardens, that has over 3000 trees within it.
