This is a view looking in a north, north easterly direction over one of the bosquets in the Grand Couvert area of the Tuileries Gardens called the Salle verte sud-ouest, which is located on the south west side of the Allee Centrale that you can see a part of in this image, and travels the entire length of the garden through the centre.

It was actually Andre Le Notre who designed the perspective of a grand central walkway that would provide a view from the Palais des Tuileries right up to the Place de la Concorde and beyond, yet after the palace was destroyed by fire and demolished, the views extended from The Louvre up the Avenue des Champs Elysees as well.
