Here you can see a view looking in a southerly direction over a parterre within the Grand Carre area of the Tuileries Gardens called the Carre de fer sud, which is bordered by flowerbeds, and incredibly, there are over 125,000 plants and flowers within these historical gardens.

Now many centuries ago, formal French gardens did not have the same variety of flowers that can be seen today as they were limited in colours such as pink, blue, white and mauve, however, by the 1700s, other colours and varieties of flowers were starting to appear, such as orange flowers, which meant that royal gardens started to become even more beautiful.
