There are numerous walkways within the Jardin des Tuileries that are lined with trees, which provide lovely shade on a hot day, yet they were planted in straight lines to provide an elongated perspective, which is trick used in landscape gardening to make an area seem larger or longer than what it actually is.

And this is a view looking in a south, south westerly direction down the Allee de Diane, which is the pathway in between the Grand Couvert area to the right of the image and the Grand Carre area to the left, and in front you can see a wall, which is a part of one of the historical perimeter terraces
