The Jardin des Tuileries has approximately 100 different statues and sculptures that you can admire and this is a statue called The Oath of Spartacus, which is located next to the Demi-lune carre de fer nord area and it was sculpted back in the late 1860s by Louis Ernest Barrias for Napoleon III who wanted additional statuary to adorn this section of the garden.

However towards the end of the 19th century and the start of the 20th, the garden was a place for fun with different amusements and in keeping with this tradition, as you can see in the background, there is a ferris wheel, and this is part of a fun fair set up for Bastille Day celebrations and the summer holidays.
