This is a view looking past the statue of Venus, the Goddess of Love positioned in between the boxwood hedges within the Jardin du Carrousel, in a north westerly direction towards a big wheel that had been set up within the Tuileries Gardens for the annual summer fairground event.

However, in the distance to the left of the image, you can also see another Ferris Wheel, known as the Grande Roue de Paris, with the original being the largest in the world when it first opened in 1900, and the cars were even used to temporarily home people after World War I, but although not the original, this is still a sight you will often see from the Jardin des Tuileries when it is set up close to the western entrance, yet within the Place de la Concorde.
