This is a view looking in a south easterly direction past the Vivier sud pond towards the Musee du Louvre, while we were standing on the pathway next to the Petit Reserve sud looking over another parterre called the Grand Reserve sud, which are all located within the Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries.

And this is the area of the Tuileries Gardens that was laid out with geometrical shapes and patterns, that were low lying with very few trees, which was originally closest to the former Palais des Tuileries, and designed so that it could be best viewed from above, like from the windows of the palace or from the terrace and colonnades.
