We took this photograph looking in a south easterly direction down a tree lined pathway that is located within the Tuileries Gardens on a terrace called the Terrasse du Jeu de Paume and to give you an idea, the former indoor tennis court and now museum is on the left hand side beyond the hedge.

This particular terrace was first designed in the 1600s to provide elevated views over the Jardin des Tuileries, yet the area was only given the name it has today after the building to house the tennis court was constructed by Louis Napoleon, or Napoleon III, who also had a second pavilion constructed on the opposite terrace.
