HD photograph from Allee des Feuillants inside Jardin des Tuileries looking south westerly - Page 261
This is a view from Allee des Feuillants looking in a south westerly direction towards the Allee de Diane, which is one of the main pathways that divides two sections of the Tuileries Gardens, with the Grand Couvert area being behind the trees, and the Grand Carre area being where we were standing when we took this photograph next to a parterre called the Carre de fer nord.

Basically a parterre is a low ground level design within a formal French style garden that was adapted from an Italian Renaissance garden, and always in a geometrical pattern they have borders of flowerbeds and often gravel paths between defining specific areas, which were always found nearest the palace so that they could be admired from above, rather than views being obscured by trees.
