We were looking in a south westerly direction towards a statue called Death of Laish that was placed within the parterre called the Petit reserve sud, which is in the Grand Carre area of the Tuileries Gardens, and the pathway you can see travelling to the right of the image would take you to the Grand Bassin Rond.

Now there are many areas within the Jardin des Tuileries that have signs up stating no walking or sitting on the grass, however, as you can tell, people were enjoying relaxing in the shade, plus there was impromptu music from two people playing their guitars, and in fact, music for celebrations has been organised within this historical park for centuries.
