HD photograph from Terrasse du Bord de l'Eau inside Jardin des Tuileries looking north westerly - Page 228
We were looking in a north westerly direction when we took this photograph while standing on the terrace called the Terrasse du Bord de l'Eau, and this was one of the features put in place back in the 1600s, so that the royal family, their court and guests, could admire their garden from an elevated position.

And we were standing close the end of the terrace at the south eastern end, which means that the Quai des Tuileries and the River Seine would be viewable over the balustrades to the left, and the famous Musee du Louvre is behind us, and the Terrasse du Bord de l'Eau runs the entire length of the Jardin des Tuileries.
