We took this photo looking in a south westerly direction over the octagonal basin located in the western part of the Tuileries Gardens in the direction of the River Seine, and you can just see the famous tourist attraction of the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

And we took this while standing just behind the statue of Veturie, which was originally produced for the Chateau de Versailles, yet it was placed within the Jardin des Tuileries in 1722, along with several others, which is when this former royal garden first started to be adorned with statues for the pleasure of the monarchy and their court.
