HD photograph from Petit Reserve sud garden inside Jardin des Tuileries looking easterly - Page 221
Although the Palais des Tuileries is no longer in existence, as this was set on fire during the Paris Commune and severely damaged, so the decision was taken a few years later to completely demolish this royal palace, however the gardens have remained intact, yet were extended with the Jardin du Carrousel where this palace once stood.

And this is a view looking easterly in the direction of the Carrousel gardens and part of the Louvre Museum, while we were standing in the Petit Reserve sud garden area of the Jardin des Tuileries, which was laid out in a geometrical pattern with an open aspect, in what is referred to as a Jardin a la Francaise.
