We had just walked along the Allee sous couvert Sud and crossed over the Allee de Diane, when we took this photograph looking in a south easterly direction, just as we had entered the Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries.

Now this is the formal open area of the gardens that was laid out by the landscape gardener and architect Andre Le Notre back in the 1600s, and we were standing on the walkway between the Demi-lune carre de fer sud and the Carre de fer sud when we took this picture.
