Surrounded by a painted metal fence, we took this photo of the Potager, which in English is a Vegetable Garden, and as you can see this is a working vegetable garden that also has contemporary art sculptures located within it, located within the south west part of the Grand Couvert section of the Tuileries Gardens.

In fact, even from the time the gardens were originally laid out for Queen Catherine de Medici back in 1500s, there has always been a vegetable garden, although this is smaller than those that were always utilised for French royal gardens, but is still in keeping with the history of the Jardin des Tuileries.
