We were looking in a westerly direction towards the part of the terrace called the Terrasse du Jeu de Paume that looks over the Place de la Concorde when we took this photo showing a small triangular garden area home to a contemporary art sculpture called Le Bel Costume.

Yet where the seats are to the left of the image is a part of the terrace that looks over the Jardin des Tuileries in the Fer a Cheval area which is home to the octagonal basin and two rose gardens either side along with the ramps in a horseshoe shape by the western entrance to the gardens.
