You will find that many chateaux throughout France have lakes or ponds along with other water features such as basins and fountains, and even though it is in the heart of Paris in the 1st Arrondissement, the Jardin des Tuileries is no exception as it has two ponds.

So here you can see a view over one of these ponds, being the Exedre nord, which is full of fish and has many aquatic plants, not forgetting other wildlife like the ducks that also enjoy this water feature, and surrounded by greenery along with a restaurant that overlooks this, there are also casts of historical statues now held within the Musee du Louvre, which were once by ponds at the Chateau de Marly.
