Vegetable gardens have always been a major aspect of any royal palace, and even when the widow of King Henri II, Queen Catherine de Medici, had the Tuileries Gardens laid out in an Italian Renaissance style back in 1564, there were dedicated areas specifically for growing food.

So in keeping with this tradition, the Jardin des Tuileries still has a vegetable garden, which is called the Potager in French, and this is a view looking at a part of this within the Grand Couvert area along with contemporary art sculptures contained within it by the artist Anne Rochette.
