Within the Grand Couvert area of the Jardin des Tuileries covered by approximately 2,000 trees you will discover two ponds and Exedras that were constructed at the end of the 1700s as part of a major renovation project for the garden, which were adorned with historical statues, that are now within the Musee du Louvre and copies have been put in their place.

However, the Tuileries Gardens also contains some modern and contemporary art works, like the one you can see here, which is called Manus Ultimus that was sculpted in bronze by Magdalena Abakanowicz in 1997 and installed in the year 2000 along with several other contemporary sculptures from living artists.
