Panoramic photo of Grand Carre inside Jardin des Tuileries looking north east - Page 153
While we were within the Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries standing by the small round basin called the Vivier nord, we took this panoramic photo looking over the gardens towards the Musee du Louvre, who are also responsible for maintaining this historical park and open air museum.

Yet, this is not the view you would have seen back in the 1600s, as these gardens were designed for the Tuileries Palace, which was destroyed by fire during the Paris Commune, so where you can see the hedge, this is now the start of the Jardin du Carrousel section of the gardens laid out after the royal palace was demolished, so you pass this before getting to The Louvre.
