The Place du Carrousel, the courtyard and the gardens all became a part of the Jardin des Tuileries when the Palais des Tuileries was burned down and subsequently demolished, which meant that views opened between the gardens and the famous Musee du Louvre.

And here you can see a statue called La France Victorieuse, which was sculpted by Antoine-Francois Gerard upon the orders of Napoleon Bonaparte when the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was constructed as an entrance to the former royal palace where he once resided.
