We were in the Grand Carre area of the Tuileries Gardens looking over the Grand Reserve sud towards the hedge that divides this part of the garden with the Jardin du Carrousel, which is where the Palais des Tuileries once stood before you reach the famous Louvre Museum.

And with a history going back over 450 years, this free public park was classed as a protected historical monument back in 1914, but in 1991 it also became part of the UNESCO World Heritage site along the banks of the River Seine, which means that there is an ongoing restoration project to maintain this popular tourist attraction.
