We were looking in a south easterly direction towards the Pavillon de Flore of the Musee du Louvre, while we were on the Terrasse du Bord de l'Eau, which was part of the design for the Tuileries Gardens that was implemented by the landscape architect Andre Le Notre back in the 1600s.

And here you can see one of the statue groups located within the gardens called Les Fils de Cain, which was produced in bronze by the famous sculptor Paul Landowski, and initially placed within the courtyard of the Louvre it was moved to the Waterfront Gallery terrace by the River Seine in the 1980s, almost 80 years after it was first sculpted.
