While we were within the Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries on the south eastern side, we took this photo looking over the small round basin called the Vivier Sud, and if you look carefully beyond this you can see the gates by the terrace that take you to the Carrousel area of the gardens.

You will find that ponds and water features were a major part of French landscaped gardens, known as a Jardin a la Francaise, and traditionally, within royal parks these would all have fish such as carp located in them, and here you can see one of the fish within this pond.
