HD photograph from Jardin du Carrousel inside Tuileries Gardens looking south west - Page 130
Originally the Jardin des Tuileries was designed to accompany a new palace that Catherine de Medici was having constructed, but unfortunately this was set on fire during the Paris Commune, and the decision was taken to demolish this a few years later, which was when the Jardin du Carrousel was first laid out.

The Jardin du Carrousel then became a part of the Tuileries Gardens and here you can see a view looking over a part of this garden towards the north facade of the Pavillon de Flore, which is a section of the famous Louvre Museum, who also oversee the maintenance of these historical gardens.
