The Grand Carre area of the Jardin des Tuileries is an ancient area that was laid out in a formal French style with parterres, which are symmetrical lawns separated by the paths and basins, and it was this area that was once the private garden of King Louis Philippe and Napoleon III, although today it is a part of the free public park.
