This first HD photo shows an allegorical statue with a winged child depicting La Chasse, which in English translates to The Hunt, hence you can see a deer to one side and a dog to the other, that was initially produced as a plaster model, now held at the Musee d'Orsay, before being sculpted in stone and put in place on the Aile en Retour Mollien wing of the former Palais du Louvre.
You will find that The Hunt statue on The Louvre was produced by Charles Lebourg who was born in Nantes in 1829 and initially studied art including sculpture and drawing in his home town before moving to Paris and studying under Francois Rude, starting to exhibit works at the Paris Salons, with many to be found in Nantes.
However, Charles Lebourg is most well known for designing the Wallace Fountains, which were created to provide fresh drinking water after the Franco-Prussian war, and not only can these be found all over Paris, but there are also Wallace Fountains in many other parts of the world that continue to be a legacy of the English gentleman, Sir Richard Wallace, and this French sculptor.
Now this image shows the location of La Chasse statue positioned on the third level balustrade of the Aile en retour Mollien, and positioned to the far right hand side, this wing is classed as within the Cour Napoleon.
But in order to view this facade of the Louvre Museum, you would need to be standing in the Cour du Carousel, as this wing looks in a westerly direction towards the Tuileries Gardens on the side nearest the River Seine.
