This first HD photo shows a statue called L'Art Grec, which in English translates to Greek Art, and initially produced as a plaster model, when this was accepted by the architect for the transformation of the Palais du Louvre, it was then sculpted in stone, as an allegory depicting a young boy with attributes relating to ancient Greek art like the vase you can see here.
You will find that numerous different artists and sculptors were employed for the embellishments that were added to The Louvre, and this particular L'Art Grec statue was produced between the years of 1855 and 1857 by Charles Edouard Elmerich, who was born in Besacon in 1813, yet he is most well recognised for his paintings and engravings rather than sculptures.
However, here you can see the location of the Greek Art statue positioned on the third level balustrade by the roof line on the Aile en retour Mollien, and when you are looking at this western facade of the Louvre Museum, which faces towards the Cour du Carrousel, you will see that it is the seventh statue from the left hand side, or second from the right.
