This first HD photo shows another allegorical statue on the Palais du Louvre called La Musique, which depicts a mythological winged child holding a musical instrument while surrounded by others, and made of stone, this was placed on a facade of the former royal palace in 1856.
So here you can see a close up photograph showing the detailing that went into producing The Music statue, which was by Henri Joseph Ducommun du Locle, who was born in Nantes in 1804 and became known as Henri Joseph Daniel or Daniel Ducommun.
Now Henri Joseph Daniel was actually a tax collector, yet he also studied sculpture under Francois Joseph Bosio and started presenting works at the Paris Salons, which led to different commissions for his home town as well as in Paris including this statue for The Louvre.
And here you can see that La Musique has been positioned on the balustrade by the roof line of the Aile Mollien and when you are looking at this wing from the Cour Napoleon courtyard, you will see that this is located as the fourth statue from the left hand side.
