This first HD photo shows a statue called Le Fleuve de la vie, which in English translates to The River of life and this was produced in marble for a wing of the former Palais du Louvre called the Aile Lemercier.
The statue of River of life was produced by Pierre Eugene Emile Hebert who was born in 1823 and followed in his fathers footsteps, Pierre Hebert, to become a French sculptor, initially training under his father before furthering his studies under Jean Jacques Feuchere, so hence why he is called Pierre Eugene Hebert the Younger.
However, this photo shows the location of Le Fleuve de la vie that has been positioned within a niche on the Aile Lemercier, and when you are looking at this facade from the courtyard of The Louvre called the Cour Carree, you will see that this statue is on the ground floor level on the far right hand side of the wing.
