Located on the wall of the Jardin des Tuileries facing the Rue de Rivoli by the Place de la Concorde, you will see a World War II War Memorial dedicated to different people who died while fighting for France, and this first HD photo shows the commemorative plaque dedicated to Raymond Mestracci with the flower pot below.
This next close up photograph shows the plaque, and when translated into English, this generally reads, Sergeant Raymond MESTRACCI, Marching Regiment of Chad, died for France the 25th August 1944.
And he was actually within the 3rd Marching Regiment of Chad, which was part of the 2nd French Armoured Division that was deployed to Paris to help support the Parisians and fighters during the Liberation of Paris, when major fighting took place around the Tuileries Gardens and the Concorde Square on this day.
Yet here you can see a close up of the stone plant pot adorned with flowers that is located within a niche on the sandstone wall of the Jardin des Tuileries below the plaque, and always decorated throughout the year, additional flowers and wreaths are added on certain dates, as a constant reminder of the heroic efforts of Raymond Mestracci and nine others.
