Now Le Printemps is classed as an allegorical statue and in English the name translates to The Spring, and in this first HD photo who can see that the young child has leaves, etc covering parts of his body, which indicates when things start to grow and blossom.
As with all of the smaller child statues located on the facades of the former Palais du Louvre, they were first produced in plaster, and once approval was given, they were then sculpted in stone by the artist, and this statue of Spring was created by a very little known French sculptor called Adrien Fourdrin.
Yet here you can see Le Printemps statue positioned on the balustrade of the upper level of the Aile en retour Mollien, and when you are looking at this western facade of the Louvre Museum form the courtyard called the Cour du Carrousel, you will see the statue positioned sixth from the left hand side.
