This first HD photo shows an allegorical statue called La Paix, which in English translates to The Peace, and this is one of the series of Genies or Geniuses that have a young child within the composition, which were put on the facades of the former Palais du Louvre during its restoration from the 1850s.
Now this was sculpted by a very little known artist called Cavasse, and each statue was initially produced in plaster for approval by the architect in charge of the grand Louvre project before being produced in stone, and La Paix was one of these that was documented by the photographer Edouard Baldus, as a complete record of all sculptures and decorations for the exterior of The Louvre.
So, in this photo you can see that The Peace statue was placed on a balustrade on the third level of the Rotonde d'Apollon by the roof line, and when viewing this facade of the Louvre Museum from the Cour Napoleon, you will find this located on the far right hand side of the wing.
