This first HD photo shows the statue called La Chasse, which in English translates to The Hunt, and being an allegory, you can see the young child blowing a horn while standing in front of a stag, so this stone statue on the former Palais du Louvre is also sometimes referred to as Hunting.
Now The Hunt was produced by Pierre Alexandre Schoenewerk who was born in 1820 and studied to become a French sculptor under the guidance of David d'Angers, presenting works at the Paris Salons from 1841, and become well recognised he received many public commissions for statues and sculptures.
In fact, Pierre Alexandre Schoenewerk received several orders for the Louvre along with ones for churches and another that can be seen at a popular tourist attraction called the Musee d'Orsay, yet unfortunately, he committed suicide in 1885 after his wife had gone insane and one of his works did not get the recognition he wanted.
Yet this image shows the location of La Chasse statue positioned on the balustrade of the Aile Henri II by the roof of this wing, and when you are looking at the facade from the courtyard of the Louvre Museum called the Cour Napoleon, you will see this is the fifth statue from the left hand side.
