This first HD photo shows a Fronton, which in English translates to Pediment, which was designed as an allegory with a central mythical winged female figure, however, unfortunately, we have been unable to find out the name of this sculpture.
But according to some sources this Fronton was sculpted by Amedee Donatien Doublemard who was born in 1826 and entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts studying under Francisque Duret to become a French sculptor.
Amedee Donatien Doublemard was most recognised for his bust statues of famous people along with monuments and funerary compositions, even though many of these were melted down during the World War I or World War II, yet there are still some sculptures and statues of his that can be found in Paris and France, including this Pediment on the former Palais du Louvre.
However, in this photograph you can see the Fronton located above a window and two other sculptures by the roof line on the south facade of the Aile de Marsan, and when you are looking at the facade from The Louvre courtyard called the Cour du Carrousel, you will see that this is the seventh Pediment from the left hand side.
